What’s Going On? Week of 03/01/017

March 1st, 2017 by

Polar Plunge – Saturday, March 4th

The Minneapolis Polar Plunge is this weekend, and our team from Morrie’s Minnetonka Subaru will be out there plunging the day away! The weather is currently projected to be in the 40’s, which doesn’t make it great for lake plunging…but it could certainly be worse! This event benefits Special Olympics of Minnesota, and is certainly a worthwhile way to spend an afternoon!

44th Annual Twin Cities Auto Show – Saturday, March 11-19th

We want to give you plenty of time in advance to plan for the Twin Cities Auto Show. We’ve all heard the jingle, “Gotta go to the auto showwww!” and we gotta make sure you’re as excited for the show as we are. We’re looking forward to wandering down Luxury Lane, as well as checking out all the classics brought out to the show.

Lake Street Dive – First Ave – Friday, March 3rd

“Much has happened since Lake Street Dive released its latest album Side Pony in early 2016: the band was invited to play at the White House, was a music guest on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert and on The Today Show, sold out 42 shows throughout the United States, and were featured on Chris Thile’s hosting debut of A Prairie Home Companion, among many other high points.” Nothing like a Friday night show at First Avenue to kick the weekend off right! Tickets are still available to see Lake Street Dive on their Winter 2017 US Tour.

Food & Wine Experience – Fri-Sat, March 4-5th

“Minnesota Monthly’s 23rd Annual Food & Wine Experience will be held on March 4 & 5, 2017. You won’t want to miss this delicious weekend filled with savory eats, fine wines, and specialty beers, all enjoyed from the warmth and comfort of the elegant Metropolitan and Legends Clubs at Target Field.” Tickets are $80 in advance or $85 at the door.

Mythical Creatures at the Science Museum – Fri-Sun, March 3-5th

You can either watch your kids have an amazing time, or wait until they wake you up in the middle of the night terrified from what they saw at the Science Museum of Minnesota. Either way, this sounds like an awesome way to spend a weekend afternoon! “Explore the natural and cultural roots of some of the world’s most enduring mythological creatures. From mermaids to dragons and griffins to unicorns, this exhibit reveals the relationship between nature and legend.”

Minnesota Roller Girls – Saturday, March 4th

It’s the battle for the Golden Skate! Roy Wilkins Auditorium is host to the Minnesota Roller Girls as they bash, smash, and crash their way to the title of this full-on contact sport. Doors open at 6:00pm and tickets are just $14-16 in advance!
